The new king of the red carpet also kills it at the airport.
At the airport in Los Angeles yesterday, for example, Glover rolled up in an outfit that was essentially what we all wake up wearing on Sunday morning; a stretched out T-shirt, some nondescript sweats, and whatever glasses are sitting on the bedside table. His sneakers were the Powerphase Calabasas, a.k.a. lowest-key, least-hyped Yeezys money can buy. The only element of flashiness, a gold necklace, looked more like a leftover from the night before than a purposeful style flex. And there wasn’t a monogrammed duffle bag or serious leather jacket in sight.
As much as we appreciate Glover’s willingness to wear loud and crazy clothes, this side of his style is equally appealing. It’s a reminder that A+ style can be quiet and affordable too. In fact, excellent basics are really the secret sauce that makes or breaks most outfits. If Louis Vuitton luggage and Balenciaga sneakers are not in your budget, don’t sweat it. Owning roll-out-of-bed clothes that look this good is even more important when it comes to looking great, and they can be yours for any price.
