I’m A Celebrity: Rebekah Vardy devastated over trial miss

She became the first ever celebrity to be ruled out of doing a Bushtucker trial, despite being voted in by the public, by show medic Bob.

And Rebekah Vardy was left ‘devastated’ by the decision made by the medical professional, as she had wanted to battle it out alongside Stanley Johnson to win food for her fellow campmates.

But, in a show first, medic Bob refused to let the WAG take part due to her low blood pressure and insisted he hadn’t taken to making the decision ‘lightly’.

After complaining about feeling ‘lethargic’, Rebekah was checked over by Bob who revealed that low blood pressure was causing the star to feel unwell and he made the authoritative decision that she should sit out from doing the show’s latest task.

Rebekah had revealed on her way to the trial area: ‘I don’t feel good today at all. I feel really dizzy and quite sick. I’ve spoken to Bob and he’s taken my blood pressure, he’s monitoring me.’

Stanley then reassured her that if she isn’t deemed fit to do the task, she should sit it out, with Bob then confirming that Rebekah wouldn’t be taking part.

He told her: ‘Your blood pressure is quite low and because you’ve been feeling quite weak, which is understandable, I’m going to have to rule you out. I’m sorry.’

Revealing that preventing Rebekah from taking on the challenge was a first for him in the 15-year history of I’m A Celebrity, Bob added: ‘I have never actually stopped a celebrity doing a trial, so this is number one… I don’t take it lightly.’

Beauty Rebekah was then seen admitting she was ‘absolutely devastated’ by the news, as she said: ‘I feel like I let the team down this morning.’

According to The Sun, Becky suffered a ‘funny turn’ after days of partaking in intense Bush Tucker trials, on next to no food.

An insider told the paper that the mother-of-four had been ‘furious’ with the decision, as she felt she was ‘capable’ of winning food for camp.

They said: ‘Becky felt a bit woozy, but felt she was perfectly capable of carrying on.’

Her spokesperson then told the paper: ‘She’s giving it her all on the show and felt she was letting her campmates down. She’s tough and wouldn’t want to be removed over feeling light headed.

‘She’s loving every minute and wants to keep pushing herself.’

Instead, former politician Stanley, 77, had participated in the trial with Kezia Dugdale, much to the delight of viewers, as he had been ruled out of every challenge so far due to medical reasons.

The task saw Stanley throw balls into a nearby goal, after being fed them through a tube by Kezia, while he was strapped to a wheel covered in critters. He, however, missed almost every single shot leaving presenting duo Ant and Dec in stitches.

Hilarious: Stanley Johnson's first attempt at a Bushtucker Trial was well worth the wait on Wednesday, as it left Ant and Dec in stitches - he was joined by Kezia Dugdale instead

Despite his efforts, he and Kezia could achieve only five out of 11 stars for camp.

After failing in his first few attempts, Ant quipped on Stanley’s haphazard throwing: ‘It’s like watching England play penalties,’ at which Dec responded: ‘No, its worse!’

Dec joked that the star had ‘no sense of urgency’, as, despite having less than half the time left to complete the challenge, Stanley refused to rush his remaining attempts that were made even more difficult by being in the dark.

Aware of his mishap however, Stanley simply said in his usual witty style: ‘This must be a world record of misses… it’s not as easy as you might think!’

Not good: Stanley had to locate balls among the crawlies to throw into a nearby goal - but it seems throwing is not his strong point, as he proceeds to miss every single shot in the time

To which Ant responded playfully: ‘It’s easier than you’re making it look though!’

Stanley was voted to do the trial on Tuesday night – no doubt because it is the first challenge he has been medically approved to take part in. However, the father of Boris Johnson did show promise when he competed in the live team trial on Monday, and wolfed down three witchetty grubs with ease.

Licking his lips, he declared: ‘These are b****y nice. Delicious!’, causing viewers to hail him a ‘legend’ on Twitter.

Hilarious: The display leaves Ant & Dec in hysterics, with Ant quipping: ‘It’s like watching England play penalties,’ to which Dec adds: ‘No, its worse!’
