I’m A Celebrity’s Pete Rowsthorn eliminated

On Wednesday night, fan favourite declared himself ‘the jungle’s biggest loser,’ after discovering he’d lost a whopping 12 kilograms in six weeks.

The statement was given a double meaning following his shock elimination moments later however, as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! lost its biggest threat.

After forming a hilarious fake romance with Pete on the show, fellow comedian Fiona O’Loughlin burst into tears when his eviction was announced on Wednesday night.

The reaction on social media was equally sobering.

Pete, who played the beloved ‘pants man’ Brett Craig on Australian classic Kath & Kim, was widely tipped to make it all the way to the final three.

Moments after learning he’d lost the most weight out of any celebrity to enter the jungle this season, his  journey came to an end.

‘Now, in the blink of an eye, we are about to lose another 60-plus kilos of pure celebrity,  just five in the jungle,’ co-host Julia Morris announced.

In the end it came down to Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison, Fiona, and Pete – but ultimately, the ‘biggest loser’ lost.

As soon as the word came down, Fiona turned to Pete and hugged him, still dealing with the shock of losing her on-screen husband.

The pair formed a fake ‘marriage’ this season, with Pete assuming the role of hefty superannuation fund-holder ‘Ron’ and Fiona playing his wife, Brenda.
