Co-host Julia Morris quizzed Simone on whether she was caught glancing at Josh, 33, on numerous occasions.

‘Little glances, but you could have been glancing at everyone. We assumed you were glancing at Josh,’ Julia said.

Brushing off a potential romance, Simone responded: ‘No. Me and Josh and Pete [Rowsthorn] came in together on the first day and we are just like brother and sister.’

Simone’s statement comes after Josh shut down the idea of a romance, during his exit interview on Monday night’s episode.

Quizzed by the co-hosts as to whether he would date the starlet now that he’s been voted out of the jungle, he stated: ‘We’ll both be single, you heard it here.’

‘We’re like brother and sister, she’s the younger sister,’ Josh said.

However when probed further, the fitness enthusiast made it very clear that the pair will never be taking their friendship to the next level.

‘There’s no [possibility]. No babies, no relationship. She’s going to go back to LA, I’m going to move to Sydney and we’ll both be single. You heard it here first.’

Josh’s co-stars picked up on his flirtatious behaviour with Simone, since his arrival in the South African jungle.

An earlier episode saw comedian Peter Rowsthorn remark: ‘Out of the park hot as a couple. Boom, A1, hot couple.’

The 54-year-old Kath & Kim star added: ‘Hey, have some babies, they’d be good-looking!’

Vicky Pattison, 30, added: ‘I am romance starved, I’ve not seen a good one in years. And I’m hooked with Josh and Simone.’

No chance: Josh also shut down the idea of a romance, during his exit interview on Monday night's episode: 'There's no [possibility]. No babies, no relationship. She's going to go back to LA, I'm going to move to Sydney and we'll both be single. You heard it here first'
