Julia Morris to host Blind Date on Channel 10

Channel Ten was recently taken over by US giant CBS.

But despite the change in ownership, it appears the station is still sticking with its small stable of trusty stars.

Julia Morris is set to host the network’s upcoming show Blind Date- a revival of 1980s dating show, Perfect Match.

Julia joins comedians Rove McManus, Dave Hughes and Peter Helliar who have all recently been given new hosting gigs by Channel Ten.

Sticking with the original Perfect Date format, Blind Date will see a  single person faced with three prospective suitors from which to choose.

Speaking about the show with The Sunday Telegraph, the 49-year-old funny woman stated: ‘It has a speed dating vibe to it and success will very much be in how much thought our contestants are putting into their answers’.

She added: ‘The very exciting thing for me about this format is it’s not a dating show; it’s a comedy dating show.’

The debut episode of Rove’s quiz series Show Me The Movie! premiered to just to an audience of  545,000, before falling substantially the following week.

Hughesy, We Have A Problem! hovers around half a million viewers, while Peter’s Cram! last year garnered weaker numbers.
