Early this year we saw teaser images of a collaboration between Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER and Nike, utilising brand new React technology. Now, brand new colourways have been unveiled, and they’re looking cleaner than ever. We’ve got the latest right here at The Idle Man.
UNDERCOVER is a brand that holds a cult following, and retains an almost legendary status in the streetwear world. Although not as hyped as brands such as Supreme or Bape, Takahashi’s brand opts for a more lowkey and refined look – one that’s preferred by many older fans of the style. Way back at the start of the year we saw leaked images of what was stated to be a collaboration between UNDERCOVER and Nike. Now, new images have been released, showcasing some effortlessly clean looking colourways, and confirming that Nike React technology will be present.
From what we can see here, the collaboration follows a deconstructed theme, similar to what Virgil Abloh achieved in his “THE TEN” collection – however we can’t help but feel that UNDERCOVER have nailed it infinitely better here. The brand’s script logo can also be found on the lateral side of each sneaker, as well as handy features like the heel tab, and of course the Nike React technology underfoot.
If like us, you’re looking to get your hands on a pair of these, unfortunately there isn’t a release date on the cards just yet. There’ds rumours that the collaboration is set to drop towards the latter end of the year, so for now, we can only sit tight and wait. One thing we do know however is that there’s already a hype generating around these, so if you’re set on grabbing a pair at least you’ve got plenty of time to formulate a plan to cop.
