Y-3 are back, revealing images of their SS18 campaign, which features two brand new sneaker silhouettes. The ultra-sleek Suberou and the bold chunky Bashyo. With the Suberou releasing on December 3rd, and no confirmed date for the Bashyo, be sure to stay tuned to find out the latest information on Y-3’s new collection.
Chapter one of the new collection was shot on the streets of New York city, emitting an air of industrialism- a signature feel of the Japanese techwear brand. Fusing the best of Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas, the collection features Yohji’s signature materials and eastern influenced shapes. Whilst Adidas have lent their name, production methods and expertise to make this collection a true masterpiece.
The Suberou is one of the new silhouettes pictured as part of the new spring/summer collection. Seen on the runway earlier this year, the Suberou boasts a laceless design bathed in sleek neoprene. The laceless design allows the user to slip the sneaker on with ease and has a sock-like ankle support similar to the Y3 Quasa. Boasting an all white sole on the red and blue versions and a triple black version already released yesterday, you have a few options to choose from.
The second silhouette is the Bashyo, a bold and bashful sneaker with a mid rise cut it speaks for itself. The upper is constructed from a malleable canvas scrawled with Y-3 branding and is reminiscent of the first basketball shoes in the 60’s. The sole is made of a thick and chunky rubber for maximum comfort and stacked for an extra height boost and even more comfort. Available in three colourways- triple black, red and white the Bashyo is a neo-modern sneaker that will elevate your style exponentially.
Whichever sneaker you prefer, there is a general consensus throughout the streetwear community that these beautifully crafted sneakers will do well in sale and will amply and compliment almost any outfit.
