It’s the hit survival reality show that has sent fans into a lather over who will be appearing on the upcoming season.

And, as the stars of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! remain a closely guarded secret, comedian and radio host Lawrence Mooney has revealed the identity of one of the contestants.

The funnyman divulged that his friend and fellow comedian Fiona O’Loughlin would enter the jungle in 2018 during his Triple M Big Breakfast With Marto, Robin & The Moonman show on Wednesday.

Lawrence admitted that he had learned the news through a third party on Tuesday, and found it too difficult to hold his tongue.

‘We were talking about who’s going into the jungle and it’s highly, highly, highly, secret for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here and this information came to me through a source yesterday,’ the funnyman revealed.

He continued: ‘I checked the information – a very reliable source – and I know that one of the people going into the jungle is my friend Fiona O’Loughlin.’

‘Wow, are you supposed to say that?,’ co-host Robin Bailey asked Lawrence to which he replied: ‘No, I’m not supposed to say that.’ 

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Ten for comment.

In the lead-up to the series premiere, the network has been sending fans into a frenzy by sharing cryptic teasers on social media.

Earlier this month, it posted a clue on their Facebook page which read: ‘Australia’s stand-up Queen.  This Queen of comedy has a lot to talk about,’ which, if Lawrence is to be believed relates to Fiona.

And there will be no shortage of talking points from the mother of five who has spoken openly in the past about her battle with alcoholism, which was first revealed in 2009 after she collapsed during a show in Brisbane.

She also detailed her struggles with addiction in her 2011 memoir Me Of The Never Never.

In 2014 she told The Daily Telegraph that, as a recovering alcoholic, she felt strong enough to look back on her life and see how ‘damn close I came to losing it all’.

Speaking to  Gold104.3’s Jo & Lehmo in 2017, she also revealed she had a near-death experience after falling into a month-long coma.

Fiona said she was on the brink of death after being exposed to carbon monoxide fumes from her heater.

‘I was very very unwell. I forgot things, I seriously thought I had early Alzheimer’s. It went over a course of a month,’she said. 

 Fiona added: ‘I was given a seven per cent chance of life. And guess what? I didn’t die,’ she said.
